Creative Adventurers
Welcome to playful art sessions that take children on a new creative adventure each week. Together, we explore a whole range of techniques from zine-making to clay creations and collaging to printing.
Tuesdays 4.30 - 5.45pm or Thursdays 4.30 - 5.45pm
Starting 26 + 28 April 2022 | Bookable in half term blocks
Boost your child’s creativity and confidence with our Creative Adventurers classes.
Perfection, striving and comparison is not our thing. Our goal is to create a supportive, inspiring space for kids to play, make happy mistakes and craft creative pieces that’ll they’ll be proud of.
What’s the plan?
We offer 75 minutes of creative exploring each week, bookable in six week blocks. Here are some examples of what we offer.
Clay creations
Children love making things with clay. It’s tactile, mindful and fun. Our clay projects take inspiration from nature and textures in the world around us. Children can then press, print, scrape and make marks before constructing their final pieces.
Pastels + paint
Playing with a range of different resources is a great way to extend creative thinking. Children recently used a combination of oil pastels, paint and some cocktail stick scraping to create beautiful line drawings inspired by artist Paul Klee.
Zine making
Our Creative Adventurers had a ball making their mini zines. Playing with textures, paints, pens and stamps, they told their unique stories. These sessions are a wonderful chance to play and explore without any demands or pressure.
Mono printing
When we run printing classes there are always “wow” and “cooool” moments as the kids peel pack their final prints.
Here, it’s all about scraping, drawing, mark making and plenty of paint rolling. In our latest session the students made poly print waves inspired by Japanese artist Hokusai.
Wire sculpting
There’s something special about turning a piece of ordinary wire into a shape or sculpture.
Before Christmas, the class used wire, beads and tape to make brilliant festive decorations. The best bit? They could quickly bend and re-shape their designs, so they could have a Christmas tree one minute and a star the next. Lovely.
Sketchbooks
We give every Creative Adventurer their own sketchbook for creative experimenting. These are a great way to explore ideas before making something bigger.
The sketchbooks have doodles, explorations and fingerprints galore. They’re a beautiful art project in themselves.
